About Jam Beats
A free drum machine in your browser
Jam Beats is a free online drum sequencer from Jam Rig. Program a one-bar groove and a fill on a 16-step grid, set the tempo and swing, and export MIDI for your DAW or send the beat to Jam Rig.
- Nine drum tracks: kick, snare, closed and open hi-hat, three toms, crash, and ride.
- Velocity per hit from 1 to 127, for ghost notes and accents.
- Tempo and swing: 60 to 220 BPM, with swing for shuffles.
- Grooves and fills: the fill replaces the last bar every 4 or 8 bars.
- 76 starter presets from Jam Rig from numbers 1–5 in Common Beats, Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, Punk, Pop, Electronic, and Funk, with the same names and categories. Each includes a one-bar 4/4 groove and fill.
- MIDI export of the groove, the fill, or a full phrase, using General MIDI drum notes on channel 10.
Is Beats free?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no account. Your beats are saved in this browser, and you can download a backup file.
Can I use my beats in a DAW?
Yes. Export MIDI and drag the file onto a drum instrument track. The notes follow the General MIDI drum map, so most drum plugins play them correctly.
What do the drums sound like?
The sounds are made in your browser for previewing. For your own kit's sound, export MIDI and play it with your drum plugin, or send the beat to Jam Rig.
