Common questions

Start here.

How do I install Jam Rig?

When the installer is available, download it from the official Download page, run the signed installer, and follow the on-screen steps.

How do I choose my audio device?

Use an audio interface or a USB amp that provides USB audio, with a compatible Windows driver. Open audio settings, select the device, choose the input your instrument uses, and set the desired output. Start with a moderate buffer size and adjust for stability and latency. Check the exact amp model and its USB routing; individual amps have not yet been certified for Jam Rig.

How are VST3 plugins loaded?

Jam Rig scans standard VST3 locations and makes compatible plugins available to add to your rig. If a plugin is missing, confirm it is the 64-bit VST3 version and rescan.

How do I connect a guitar?

Connect the guitar to an instrument or Hi-Z input on your audio interface, or the guitar input on a USB audio-capable amp. Select the corresponding input in Jam Rig and check the input level before enabling loud presets.

How do I use a MIDI keyboard?

Connect the keyboard, enable its MIDI input in Jam Rig, open the Keys view, and load a compatible VST3 instrument.

How do I save a rig?

Build the desired plugin chain and settings, then save it as a rig preset.

What should I try when audio crackles?

Raise the audio buffer size, close demanding background applications, confirm the correct interface driver is selected, and test the rig with fewer plugins.
